QUACK! QUACK! QUACK!

Attention all new alumni to the Boston metropolitan area! The University of Michigan Club of Greater Boston will host a special Duck Tour of Boston to help acclimate newcomers to the sights and sounds of the city by land and water on Saturday, September 15. Boats will load up at the Prudential Center (Huntington Ave. side) at 10:30 AM.

Following the tour, join up with fellow UM alums for watching the big football match up against rival Notre Dame! Space is limited, so to make your reservation, please contact mjcarrol at umich.edu by September 7! This event is FREE for new alumni.

Michigan Author Series: John Bacon's "Bo's Lasting Lessons"

Sports writer, John Bacon, will stop in Boston on a national tour to promote his latest book. In Bo's Lasting Lessons: The Legendary Coach Teaches the Timeless Fundamentals of Leadership, by Bo Schembechler and John U. Bacon, Bo explains the specific principles he relied on to achieve his unqualified success — the right way — and how to apply them to your role as a leader.

Please join us at The Point in their private 2nd Floor banquet room for a casual, informative gathering to meet and hear from the author John U. Bacon. The free event is open to all Michigan alumni and friends and will begin with a brief cocktail hour at 7:00pm followed by a talk by John Bacon about his latest book and life experiences as a writer. The Point will have a cash bar and light appetizers will be served. Books will be available for purchase following the talk and John Bacon will also be free to sign books for all those in attendance. We look forward to seeing everyone at The Point! UPDATE John Bacon will also give a reading and book talk at Borders on School Street, Boston at 1:00 p.m., in addition to his appearance later this week at The Place prior to the Penn State game.
